We promise to handle your personal data with care and thank you for the trust you place in us. Bluefeed is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement (Bluefeed acts as controller within the meaning of the GDPR). In this statement, we explain which personal data we collect, why we do so and how we protect it. You will also find information about your rights regarding your personal data and how to exercise them.

Contact details: Bluefeed is established in the Netherlands and can be reached via or by phone on 030 207 2509. For privacy-related questions, you can contact us using these contact details.

has not appointed a formal Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this is not mandatory for our organisation.

This privacy statement may be amended from time to time if our services or the relevant legislation require it. The most recent version is published on our website. We recommend that you check this page regularly for changes. In the event of major changes, we will do our best to inform you separately.

Which personal data do we process?

Bluefeed processes personal data that you provide to us yourself or that we obtain through your use of our services. This concerns various categories of data, including:

Contact details: such as first and last name, address details, telephone number and email address. We ask for this data, for example, when you request a quotation, fill in a contact form or otherwise contact us.

Installation and home data: information relevant to our services in the field of solar panels and energy. Think of technical data about your solar panel system, information about the installation on your roof or home (such as floor plans, photos of your roof, annual energy consumption, type of inverter) and data about your energy connection or previous maintenance history. We may request this data via an extended (quotation) form or in email communication, in preparation for an installation or maintenance visit.

Account information for services: where applicable, login details or account information that you share with us for external monitoring platforms or energy management systems (EMS). We sometimes help customers create an account for a monitoring system so they can follow their solar panel installation. In that case, we process, for example, a username and email address to register that account – of course only with your consent and for that purpose.

Communication data: the content of correspondence via email or the contact form, quotations we prepare for you, reports of advice meetings or maintenance visits, and any other information you provide to us during contact.

Financial and administrative data: to prepare quotations and invoices, we may process data such as your name, address, company name and Chamber of Commerce number (if applicable), and data about the service or installation purchased. Note: We only process payment details such as bank account numbers when necessary (for example if you provide them to us yourself for refunds); as standard you pay invoices yourself, so we usually do not collect bank information from private customers.

Website and usage data: data about your visit to our website, such as IP address, type of web browser, device and operating system, and statistics about the pages you visit. We mainly use this data via analytical tools (see also Cookies & Analytics below) to understand how our website is used and to improve our services. Where possible, we anonymise this data.

We process no special categories of personal data (such as race, religion, health data, etc.) and do not intend to collect data from children under 16 without the consent of a parent/guardian. We also never ask for sensitive information such as a citizen service number (BSN), financial passwords or full credit card numbers via our site. If you think that we are nevertheless processing personal data of a minor by mistake or hold unnecessary sensitive data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

How do we obtain your data?

In most cases, we receive your personal data directly from you, for example when you fill in a form on our website, call or email us, or provide us with information during a quotation or advice process. Sometimes we obtain additional data via third parties or partners, but this only happens when necessary to perform our services and with your knowledge. For example, we may receive technical information about your system via an installation partner or look up limited data from public sources (such as land registry data about your home) to make a proper analysis. If we do not obtain personal data from you yourself, we will inform you separately of the source, if required by law.

In addition, certain usage data is collected automatically when you visit our website, as mentioned earlier (under Website and usage data). This is done via cookies or similar techniques for analytical purposes.

You are never obliged to provide us with personal data. However, if you do not want to share certain data with us, we may not be able to provide our services, or not in full. For example, we need your contact details and address to issue a quotation and to schedule an installation or maintenance; without that data we cannot help you. We will always indicate clearly which data is required (for example with asterisks (*) on mandatory fields in forms) and which is optional.

For what purposes and on what legal grounds do we process data?

We process your personal data only for legitimate purposes. Below we explain the purposes, with the corresponding legal basis as referred to in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Requests for quotations and information: If you request a quotation for solar panels, energy storage or related services via our website or otherwise, or ask for information, we use the data you provide (such as name, contact details and relevant project information) to handle your request and contact you. Legal basis: this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a possible agreement.

Performance of agreements (supply and installation): When you decide to become our customer – for example for the installation of solar panels or an energy management system – we process the necessary personal data to perform the agreement. This includes scheduling installations or maintenance at your home, supplying products, providing monitoring services and general communication about these. Legal basis: performance of the agreement. Without this data we cannot provide the agreed services.

Maintenance and service history: We keep records of maintenance work carried out, faults and repairs to your system. We do this to handle future service requests better and to plan preventive maintenance. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in optimising our service and ensuring that your installation continues to work safely and efficiently. This information may also form part of the performance of the agreement (maintenance contract or warranty handling).

Customer service and communication: To serve you well, we keep correspondence (such as emails or chats) and notes of telephone calls. That way we do not need to ask about your situation again each time and can handle your questions or complaints faster. Legal basis: legitimate interest (being able to offer effective customer service and improving our services).

Administration and legal obligations: We process data for our business administration, accounting and to comply with legal obligations. For example, to prepare invoices and comply with the tax retention obligation, we keep certain data (such as name, address, invoice amount and date on the invoice) in our administration and accounting systeml. Legal basis: legal obligation (e.g. tax legislation requiring us to keep our records for 7 years) and partly performance of the agreement (you are entitled to a proper invoice).

Account creation on monitoring platforms: If you are going to use an external monitoring platform (for example to follow the performance of your solar panels in real time), we may – in consultation with you – use your contact details to create such an account for you or to assist with registration. Legal basis: performance of the agreement/provision of the service (we offer this as part of our service). In some cases we base this on consent, for example if the platform is separate from our core delivery; you then have the choice whether or not to use such a platform.

Analysing website use (Analytics): We want to keep improving our website and services. That is why we use analytical tools (Google Analytics) to see how visitors use our site. This helps us understand, for example, which pages are visited often and where we can improve usability. Where possible, we anonymise or pseudonymise this data (e.g. by masking IP addresses). Legal basis: legitimate interest, namely the interest in improving our website and services. We only place analytical cookies in accordance with the ePrivacy rules; see Cookies & Analytics.

Marketing and newsletter (if applicable): At present, Bluefeed sends no general newsletter and we will not send you unsolicited commercial mailings. Should we wish to send a newsletter or targeted offers in the future, we will explicitly ask for your consent, unless you are already our customer and it concerns a similar service. You can always withdraw consent you have given. Withdrawal of consent does not have retroactive effect.

Bluefeed makes no use of automated decision-making or profiling in which decisions that significantly affect you are taken on the basis of your data without human intervention. All decisions (for example whether your roof is suitable for an installation, or which quotation is issued) are taken by our staff, possibly with the help of supporting software but always with human assessment.

Who do we share your data with?

Within our organisation: Only those Bluefeed staff who need your data for their work have access to your personal data. They are bound by confidentiality and make sure information is not viewed or shared unnecessarily.

External – no sale, only necessary sharing: We never sell or rent your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. Data is only shared with third parties (other companies or institutions) if this is necessary to provide our services, on the basis of a legal obligation, or if you have given us explicit consent. Below we explain which types of third parties we share data with and why:

Administration and accounting (Moneybird): We use the online accounting package Moneybird for our quotation, invoicing and administration processes. When you become our customer, your contact and address details, as well as details of the products/services supplied, are stored in Moneybird to prepare quotations and invoices and keep our records in order. Moneybird stores this data securely; we have concluded a data processing agreement with Moneybird containing strict agreements on confidentiality and security. Moneybird is bound by confidentiality, treats your data confidentially and will not use it for its own purposes. (See also Moneybird's own privacy statement for more information.)

Website hosting and email: Our website is hosted on servers of an external hosting provider. When you visit our site or fill in a form, the data provided (such as the form with your personal data) is processed on those servers. We have a data processing agreement with this hosting party, and they only process data according to our instructions. Our business email also runs via an external email provider (for example Gmail/Google Workspace); this means that if you email us, your message passes through that provider's servers. These parties have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure your data. They will not use your data for their own purposes and are also bound by confidentiality.

Analytical services (Google Analytics): As mentioned, we use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website. Google acts as a processor. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google, containing strict agreements on what they may and may not do with the data. For example, we have not allowed Google to use the information collected via Analytics for other Google services, and we have IP addresses anonymised before they are stored by Google. We also do not share any other directly identifying data with Google. Google may store the Analytics information on servers outside the European Economic Area (for example in the US). We have therefore taken additional safeguards under the GDPR (such as concluding the EU-approved standard contractual clauses) to ensure an adequate level of protection. Important: because we have set up Analytics in a privacy-friendly way (IP anonymisation, no data sharing), we place these analytical cookies without your prior consent, in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Of course, you can always block or delete Analytics cookies afterwards via our cookie settings or your browser settings.

Supply and cooperation partners: For some work, Bluefeed may engage partner companies . Think of a certified installer who installs solar panels on our behalf, or a technical specialist who carries out a maintenance visit. If such a partner needs to contact you directly or visit you, we only provide the necessary data (for example your name, address, telephone number and relevant technical details of the installation) and only after we have informed you or have your consent (for example if this is already provided for in the agreement). These partners may not use your data for other purposes and are contractually obliged to treat your information confidentially and secure it. Where necessary, we conclude data processing agreements or other contractual arrangements with our partners to safeguard your privacy.

Manufacturers and suppliers: In some cases it may be necessary to share personal data with the manufacturer or supplier of a product we install for you, for example for warranty registration or product support. If, for example, you buy a certain type of inverter or battery system via Bluefeed, we may – with your knowledge – register your device with the manufacturer for warranty. Data such as your name, address, installation date and the serial number of the device may be passed on. We limit this to what is necessary (sometimes a device ID without your name is enough). These suppliers only use the data to handle warranty or support and usually have their own privacy policy. We will inform you when this applies.

Legal obligations and rights: Bluefeed may be obliged to provide personal data to third parties on the basis of laws and regulations. For example, the Dutch Tax Administration may ask to inspect our records, or police services may request certain data under a court order. In such cases we must share the data, but we will make every effort within the law to respect the privacy of those concerned and only provide the strictly necessary informationwasbeleving.nl. We may also share your data with competent authorities if this is necessary to investigate or prevent fraud or security incidents, insofar as permitted or required by law.

In all cases where we provide personal data to third parties, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data. With external parties that process personal data on our behalf (processors), we conclude agreements to ensure they handle your data as carefully as we do. These agreements meet the requirements of the GDPR and include, among other things, that the data may not be used for other purposes, that confidentiality is mandatory and that adequate security measures must be taken.

Bluefeed remains responsible for these processing operations. Should a third party be established outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure an appropriate transfer basis (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the recipient being established in a country with an adequacy decision). For questions about this, you can contact us.

Cookies & Analytics

Our website currently makes limited use of cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit our site. At present we use no tracking or advertising cookies. We do use some functional cookies and possibly analytical cookies:

Functional cookies: These are cookies needed for the basic functionality of the website. For example, to keep track of whether you have already filled in a form, or to remember preferences. These cookies do not collect personal data and fall under the exemption in the Dutch cookie law (no consent is required).

Analytical cookies (Google Analytics): As mentioned above, we use Google Analytics to keep track of and analyse visitor statistics. Anonymous data on how our website is used is collected via cookies. We have set up Analytics in a privacy-friendly way. In concrete terms, this means that we have a processing agreement with Google, that Google masks (anonymises) the last octets of IP addresses of User IDs or other techniques to profile individual visitors. The Analytics cookies therefore do not contain directly traceable personal data. According to the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority, analytical cookies in this form may be placed without prior consent. Please note: On your first visit to our site, we nevertheless informed you about the use of Analytics via the cookie banner. You can choose to disable Analytics via that banner or by activating “Do Not Track” in your browser, or by blocking third-party cookies. Disabling Analytics has no effect on how our site works.

No marketing cookies: At present, Bluefeed does not place any third-party cookies for advertising purposes (tracking cookies). Should this change in the future, we will ask for your consent in advance via a clear notice and update this privacy statement accordingly.

For full details of which cookies we use and how you can manage your cookie settings, see our Cookie statement (if available on the website) or contact us. You can always delete or disable cookies yourself via your browser settings. Please note that certain parts of the website may not work optimally without cookies.

How long do we keep your data?

We do not keep personal data longer than necessary for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we are required by law to keep certain data longer. In practice, this means the following:

Quotation and contact requests: If you have requested a quotation but do not (yet) become a customer, we keep your contact and request details in principle for a maximum of 1 year after the last contact. We do this so we can answer any follow-up questions or offer you a suitable service if you decide to become a customer later. If you want us to delete your data sooner, you can of course ask us to.

Customers: If you become our customer, we keep your data for the duration of our relationship. We keep your customer file (including contact information, agreement, installation data and service history) active as long as you use our services or there is an ongoing warranty/service obligation. When our business relationship ends, we will delete or anonymise your personal data in our active system as soon as we are able to and no later than within 12 months, with the exception of the data we have to keep longer.

Statutory retention obligations: We keep certain (personal) data longer because the law requires it. In particular, under tax legislation we must keep our records, including invoices containing your personal data, for 7 years . This data (name, address, place of residence, invoice details) will therefore remain stored in our archive for that period after the end of the customer relationship. Other data relevant for warranty or liability purposes may also be kept for the statutory limitation periods (for example contract information up to 5 years after the end of the contract, unless a longer period is required).

Monitoring and technical data: We may keep technical data about your installation (such as installation reports, registration data on a monitoring platform) as long as the installation is in use plus a reasonable period afterwards, as this information is useful for maintenance and support. Where possible, we disconnect this data from you as a person when the customer relationship has ended, unless you want us to delete everything and there are no legal or warranty reasons to keep it.

Email and correspondence: We keep email correspondence or support tickets as long as needed to serve you and for internal training/quality purposes. In practice, we periodically clean up our mailboxes and delete old communication that is no longer relevant. You also always have the right to request that we delete certain correspondence from our active systems; see also your rights below.

After the relevant retention periods have expired, we delete or anonymise the personal data. Anonymising means that data can no longer be traced back to a person (for example by aggregating it in statistics). Please note that after a deletion request we may always check whether certain data still has to be kept on the basis of a legal obligation – in that case we will inform you which data this concerns.

How do we secure your data?

Bluefeed takes the security of your personal data very seriously and has taken various measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access and unauthorised alteration or disclosure. We apply an appropriate internal security policy. Some of the measures we apply include:

Secure connection: Our website uses an encrypted SSL connection (https). This means that the data you send via forms on our site is sent encrypted, so it cannot be read by unauthorised persons.

Access restriction: Within our organisation, personal data is only accessible to staff who need it. Access to systems containing personal data (such as our CRM, administration system and email) is protected with strong passwords and, where possible, two-factor authentication. We log access and train our staff in handling data securely.

Technical measures: Our IT environment and website are equipped with firewall and antivirus/anti-malware protection. We ensure timely updates and security patches for software and systems to close known vulnerabilities. We regularly back up important data. Where appropriate, we also have periodic security checks or audits carried out.

Processors and storage: As mentioned earlier, we work with reputable service providers (hosting, email, Moneybird, etc.) who in turn take security measures such as encryption in transit and at rest, secure data centres and access control. We have laid down agreements on this in our contracts with them.

Confidentiality: All our staff and partners who handle personal data are bound by confidentiality. This means they will not share or misuse your data. This is laid down contractually and is part of our company culture and training.

Although we make every effort to ensure security, no method of data transfer or storage is 100% secure. Should a security incident (data breach) nevertheless occur that affects your data, we will act in accordance with our data breach notification obligation. This means we will investigate the incident, take the necessary measures and – if required – report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority and to those concerned (including you, if your data is affected).

Do you have the impression that your data is not properly secured, or are there signs of misuse? Then please contact us immediately using the contact details above. We take reports very seriously.

Your privacy rights

Under the GDPR, you have various rights regarding the personal data we process about you. Below is an overview of these rights. You can exercise them (usually free of charge) by contacting us. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, and no later than within the statutory period (usually 1 month).

Right of access: You have the right to ask which personal data we hold about you and to see how and why we use it. If you ask, we will give you a copy of the data we hold about you.

Right to rectification: If your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to have it corrected or completed.

Right to erasure: Also known as ‘the right to be forgotten’. You can ask us to erase (certain) personal data if it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or if you withdraw consent previously given and we no longer have another legal basis, or if you object to processing on valid grounds, etc. Please note: sometimes we may or must keep certain data (e.g. because of legal obligations such as the tax retention obligation) and cannot fully grant your request – in that case we will explain this.

Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your data, for example while we assess an objection or correction request you have submitted, or if you want us not to delete data but also not to use it actively (for example because you need it later for a legal claim).

Right to data portability: Insofar as we process your personal data on the basis of your consent or an agreement, and this is done by automated means, you have the right to ask us to provide that data to you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, so you can easily pass it on to another service provider if you wish. In practice, this will often mean that we send you a digital file (e.g. CSV/Excel) with the relevant data.

Right to object: You may object to the processing of your personal data if we base it on a legitimate interest or task carried out in the public interest. If you object, we will weigh our interests against your privacy interest again. With direct marketing, you always have the right to object; if you indicate that you no longer want to be contacted, we will honour this.

Right to withdraw consent: Where we process your personal data on the basis of your consent, you always have the right to withdraw that consent. From the moment of withdrawal, we will stop the processing concerned. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.

To make sure that a request is made by you (the data subject) and not by someone else, we may ask for proof of your identity or for additional information. For example, we may ask you to make the request from the email address known to us, or in some cases to show a copy of an ID (in which you may cover your passport photo and citizen service number). We only do this to prevent us from providing your data to the wrong person or changing it wronglyn. Of course, we treat this verification information confidentially and delete it as soon as it is clear that the request is legitimate.

Complaints or questions: We aim to help you as well as possible and give you control over your data. If you have questions about this privacy statement or the processing of your data, or if you are dissatisfied with how we handle your privacy, please contact us first. We are open to your feedback and will try to find a solution together.

If you nevertheless believe that we are not handling your personal data correctly or are not handling your requests/complaints adequately, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, AP). You can do this via the AP website (www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Questions and contact

After reading this privacy statement, do you still have questions about how Bluefeed handles your personal data?
